Summary:
This book is set in the days when Pakistan and India were being partitioned. It tells us of the struggles that the main family went through when its members' views differed from one another. Half wanted it to divide into two separate countries, and the other half wanted it to remain united. The first half join the Muslim League, the latter half the congress. We hear of one particular member who falls in love with his cousin. They struggle to stay together, but because of the different views held by their respective families they too are parted as one family moves to Pakistan.
